Marked Top Secret, this file reveals some of the most classified information we’ve ever seen—the original concept designs for the bots that will accompany you on your journey through Europa’s icy wilderness.
They’re calling it the "Bot Selection Dossier," and as you can see (from the completely not redacted document above), these aren’t your ordinary mechanical companions. The document shows 10 options that were apparently up for debate. Some have claws that look perfect for navigating the icy depths of Europa’s hidden oceans (very useful if you’re about to meet an alien life form, wouldn’t you agree?), while others have friendly, humanoid hands—ready to give a helpful nudge when you get stuck on one of the game’s mind-bending STEM puzzles.
Each of these designs has a story to tell. Was that version with tank treads (#2) meant for rolling across Europa’s jagged, ice-crusted landscape? Was the sleek, compact version (#5) designed for tight spaces in Europa Prime’s hidden research stations? And what about the robot with the bold visor and mechanical arms (#7)? He looks ready to take on anything!
